Start at the Façade

Mould, algae, and years of coastal grime don't just look bad — they degrade surface finishes. We restore rendered walls, brick, and cladding using the right method for every material.

Clean Exteriors, Protected Surfaces

A dirty façade makes a property look neglected — even when everything else is well-maintained. Over time, rendered walls, painted surfaces, brick, and cladding accumulate mould, algae, salt residue, pollution, and general atmospheric grime. On the Mornington Peninsula, the coastal environment accelerates this process significantly.

Façade cleaning requires a different approach to pressure washing. Many external wall surfaces — particularly render and painted finishes — can be damaged by high-pressure water if the wrong method is used. We assess each surface and apply the appropriate technique.

  • Rendered & painted external walls
  • Brick & natural stone facades
  • Fibre cement & Weathertex cladding
  • Colorbond & metal cladding
  • Commercial building exteriors
  • Retaining walls & boundary fences

Soft Wash vs Pressure Wash — We Use Both

Not all exterior surfaces are the same. We assess the material and condition of each façade and select the safest, most effective method.

Soft Washing

For Render & Paint

Rendered and painted surfaces require a gentle approach. Soft washing uses low water pressure combined with professional-grade biodegradable solutions to lift mould, algae, and grime without risk of damage to the surface or paint layer.

  • Acrylic & cement render
  • Painted weatherboard & cladding
  • Fibre cement sheeting
  • Older or delicate surface finishes
Controlled Pressure

For Brick & Concrete

Harder, more durable surfaces like brick, concrete block, and stone can handle controlled pressure washing. We calibrate pressure to remove embedded dirt, lichen, and staining without damaging mortar joints or surface texture.

  • Face brick & clay brick
  • Concrete block walls
  • Natural stone facades
  • Exposed aggregate & pebblecrete

Mould, Algae & Salt Removal

On the Mornington Peninsula, coastal air and humidity create ideal conditions for mould and algae growth on external walls. Left untreated, these organisms break down surface finishes and cause lasting damage — particularly to rendered and painted surfaces.

We don't just clean the surface — we treat the growth at its root using appropriate biocides and algaecides, extending the time before regrowth occurs and protecting the longevity of the surface.

  • Mould & mildew treatment
  • Algae & lichen removal
  • Salt residue & efflorescence treatment
  • Atmospheric grime & pollution cleaning

Root Treatment

Biocide solutions kill mould and algae spores at the source, not just on the visible surface — reducing the rate of regrowth.

Salt & Efflorescence

Salt deposits and white efflorescence staining on brick and render are treated with appropriate cleaning agents before washing.

Surface Protection

Treating the cause rather than just the symptom means your façade stays cleaner for longer between services.

Home Owners

Restore your home's kerb appeal with a professional façade clean. Whether it's mould on the render, algae on the brickwork, or years of grime on the cladding — we'll have it looking like new.

  • Rendered homes & feature walls
  • Brick veneer & full brick homes
  • Weatherboard & cladding
  • Pre-sale cleaning & refresh
  • Single & double-storey

Business & Strata

Commercial building facades take a beating from vehicle exhaust, urban pollution, and weathering. We work with building managers and strata committees to keep exteriors presentable and well-maintained.

  • Commercial office buildings
  • Retail shopfronts & showrooms
  • Strata & apartment complexes
  • Industrial sheds & warehouses
  • Scheduled maintenance contracts

Our Process

Step 01

Surface Assessment

We identify the surface material, level of contamination, and any areas requiring special treatment or protection before we begin.

Step 02

Pre-Treatment

Mould, algae, and problem areas are treated with appropriate solutions and given time to work before washing begins.

Step 03

Façade Cleaning

We clean systematically using the right method for each surface — soft washing for render and paint, controlled pressure for brick and concrete.

Step 04

Final Inspection

We walk through the result with you, address any problem areas, and leave the site tidy before packing up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will façade cleaning damage my render or paint? +
Not when done correctly. Render and painted surfaces must be cleaned with low pressure (soft washing) combined with appropriate cleaning solutions. High-pressure washing on render or paint can strip the surface, cause cracking, or drive water behind the render — which leads to much bigger problems. We always assess the surface before selecting a method.
How do you treat mould and algae on external walls? +
We apply a biocide or algaecide solution to affected areas before washing. This kills the mould and algae at the root rather than just removing the visible growth from the surface. This approach significantly slows the rate of regrowth compared to washing alone.
Can you clean a multi-storey building? +
Yes. We carry appropriate equipment for multi-storey residential and commercial buildings. For very high structures requiring rope access or elevated work platforms, we can discuss requirements on a case-by-case basis.
How often should I have my façade cleaned? +
For most properties on the Mornington Peninsula, a façade clean every 1–2 years is sufficient to prevent significant build-up and protect surface finishes. Coastal properties and those in shaded or damp locations may need more frequent attention as mould and algae grow faster in those conditions.
